Agenda

Three modules, day by day

In the 2-day format modules 1–2 share the first day; the 3-day version adds a full day of DAX and Service practice. Final agenda is agreed with you before the training.

  • How Power BI works: the data flow from source to published report
  • Interface and building blocks: reports, pages, visuals
  • First report: loading data, choosing the right visuals, cross-filtering
  • Design patterns for readable management dashboards
  • Connecting to sources: files, databases, web, systems
  • Cleaning and shaping data: data types, errors, transformations
  • Merging and appending queries — one solid dataset
  • Workshop: preparing your company's dataset end to end
  • Star model: relations and the calendar table
  • DAX measures: sums, ratios, time intelligence
  • Publishing to Power BI Service: workspaces, sharing, scheduled refresh
  • Workshop: a complete dashboard published and refreshed

The training program is flexible. Before the workshops, we can adapt the scope, difficulty level, examples and training duration to your team’s needs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The program core is the same. The 3-day version adds a full day of deeper DAX practice and hands-on work with Power BI Service. Recommended if your team will maintain reports on its own.

A laptop with the free Power BI Desktop installed. For the publishing module a Power BI Pro license is useful, but everything can be demonstrated without it.

No programming background is needed. DAX is a formula language similar to Excel formulas — we teach it from scratch, step by step.

It helps, but it is not required. The training starts from the basics of working with data and builds everything up on your company's real examples.

Yes — every participant who completes the final hands-on task receives a certificate of completion.

Before the training, every participant receives access to the complete 13-hour online Excel course “Formulas, Pivot Tables & Maps”.

Participants also keep comprehensive materials (around 100 pages), 30 exercises with solutions and all workshop files — everything ready to reuse after the training.
